Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is the process of removing internal and external stains in the enamel of teeth to lighten the shade, giving a whiter, brighter smile. Teeth whitening is a very effective, simple treatment, that in most cases, can dramatically improve your smile.

There are two techniques that we use at the clinic to whiten teeth;

  • Home whitening
  • In-Office power whitening

Home whitening

This is the preferred technique for most teeth whitening cases. It involves the fabrication of some custom-fit whitening trays. These are made of a very thin plastic that fits over your teeth. A Carbemide Peroxide based gel is placed in the trays and the trays are worn over night. This gently and gradually whitens the teeth over a period of about two weeks.

In-office power whitening

This treatment is more suited to those who do not have time on their side and require their teeth whitened within two weeks. The process involves the application of a stronger peroxide based gel, whilst you are in the dental chair. A barrier is applied to the gums to protect them, and the teeth are whitened over a period of about an hour and a half.
